Estimated dates. At the time of writing, ACER has not published the GAMSAT 2027 dates. Everything about 2027 on this page is our estimate based on the 2026 pattern. The official dates, fees and registration deadlines will appear on gamsat.acer.org, and they always take precedence over this page.

GAMSAT 2027 at a glance (expected)

The GAMSAT normally runs twice a year, in March and September, with the Written Communication test (Section 2) sat separately from the multiple-choice sections (Sections 1 and 3). If 2027 follows the 2026 pattern:

SittingWritten Communication (Section 2)Sections 1 and 3Status
March 202727 Feb – 28 Feb 202719 Mar – 21 Mar 2027Estimate, not yet published
September 2027late August 2027mid-September 2027Estimate, not yet published

We will update this page when ACER confirms the dates. Our pricing and countdown use the same calendar (version 2026-10-08.1).

The confirmed 2026 dates

For reference, these are the 2026 sittings as published in ACER's GAMSAT 2026 Information Booklet (opens in a new tab):

SittingWritten Communication (Section 2)Sections 1 and 3Results (as described by ACER)
March 202628 Feb – 1 Mar 202620 Mar – 22 Mar 2026late May 2026
September 202622 Aug – 23 Aug 202611 Sept – 13 Sept 2026mid-November 2026

The March estimate above simply shifts the March 2026 pattern to the matching weekends in 2027. Treat it as a planning aid, not a booking date.

Which sitting should you aim for?

That depends on your application timeline, not on the test. Points to weigh:

  • Application deadlines. Each admissions system (for example GEMSAS in Australia, or individual schools in the UK and Ireland) sets its own rules on which sittings count for which intake. Check the schools you are applying to before choosing a sitting.
  • How long results stay valid. Universities decide how long they accept a GAMSAT result, so a sitting can count for more than one application round. Check each school.
  • Your preparation time. Most candidates want several months of steady preparation. Count the weeks you can realistically study, not the weeks until the exam. Our study plan guide helps you estimate this.
  • A second attempt. If you might resit, a March sitting can leave time for a September attempt in the same year.

What to do before the dates are published

  1. Bookmark gamsat.acer.org (opens in a new tab) and check for the 2027 Information Booklet, which sets out the dates, fees, registration windows and test arrangements.
  2. Plan backwards from the expected sitting. A few weeks either way won't change a good plan.
  3. Start with a diagnostic. Use ACER's official practice material or a timed set of practice questions to see where you stand in each section.
  4. Build a weekly routine now. Regular practice across all three sections matters more than an exact exam date.

Counting down with GAMSAT Pro

Our home page shows a countdown to the next sitting, labelled as expected until ACER confirms the dates. The until-your-exam pass runs until results come out for the sitting you choose, plus 7 days. If the official results date turns out later than our estimate, your access is extended automatically. For what the test involves, see What is the GAMSAT?.
